Video Mashup

Creating this mashup was really fun. Most of the problems I had were linked to setup, however once I got past that stage finding clips was simple. The next issue was syncing up audio to pair well with the video, however this was very easy to do in the video editor supplied by Windows 10. While this is the first time I've done video editing, it works well enough that I would be willing to present this to my friends.     All of the clips were taken from Internet Archive, totaling eight clips in all. The music used in the background is the first half of the song I created in "week" 6.

Vector Art

Both images are simple, and would likely serve well on my blog.       The first is a more stylized version of my initials, which is something I have done before for a high school visual arts class.              The second image uses few colors, which easily translate to a black and white version. I used the provided images of a bass clef and an eye from Method Draw, removing the pupil and replacing it with the bass clef. While I could have used the treble cleff or one of the music notes, I liked the design better. The image creates a sense that there would be more of a combination between visual and auditory art represented on the blog.

ASCII and Word Art

Image
The photo used is of Omanyte, from Pokemon. I used the same Image for this as the one that I have as a Discord icon at the time of writing. The white text on a black background looked better to me, though it its worth noting the difference in the characters used in the ASCII art. Pencil sharpener and blue sticky notes taken from my desk. I tried to get objects that would provide a variety of colors.  Bottle of beads. I had some difficulty with getting more text on the screen, as the initial renders had only about 10 words at most. Drawing of a crab on a beach, done by me. The words are more or less random, though they do relate to the subject matter of the drawing. However, it is significantly harder to see what is in the picture. I used a circle shape to see how this would work out. There are several names of shapes, as well as words relating to sight and light. Logitech controller for PC. I'm not really a fan of this style, though I do think the image turned out well. The color th

Flames

Image
Using this was a very familiar experience to me, as I have used a similar program called WeaveSilk in the past, linked here-  http://weavesilk.com/ This first image portrays more of a sense of anxiety. The eraser tool provided can be used to create contrast by creating a negative space in the image after adding light through the other flames. The figure created appears calm despite a bright burning light behind them, and surrounding them, looking out at the viewer. The second image evokes a feeling of accomplishment, as the star in the center looks like something from a game that you would pick up at the end, or as an easter egg. The flames encircling it only serve to emphasize its importance, and the lines coming off it as if it were shining while seated on a pedistal also serve a similar purpose.

Scribbles

Image
While I am not used to digital drawing, I enjoyed this activity. For the first image I used a picture of a toad that I took earlier in the week, first outlining it in black and giving it structure before tracing several sticks with pink. The blue was added to fill out the image and provide some contrast.  Creating depth was somewhat difficult for me to accomplish, however the simple cube serves this well. I admittedly could make something more complex, but I am more or less satisfied with the volume this conveys.

Using Soundation

I had a lot of fun making this song. I have some experience with music, being in band from 5th grade until my senior year of high school. I very much enjoy games with soundtracks similar to the one I used such as Celeste, a fairly difficult platformer with a phenomenal soundtrack composed by Lena Raine, and Just Shapes and Beats; a bullet hell that uses music from multiple composers and creates a level around each song, usually pulling from music styles including dubstep, electronica, and drum & bass. While I went a bit over the recommend time on the song, I feel that it is to the benefit of the piece and I hope you enjoy a relatively chill piece of music
